A paper written by Julian Forbes-Laird, FLAC’s Principal Consultant, has been published in the Arboricultural Journal (Volume 32, No. 4). Titled ‘Liability for death or injury caused by falling trees or branches: a review of the present position under English Law in relation to tree safety inspection’, the paper seeks to identify the current position of the courts in this important area, drawing conclusions as to the likely implications of this for tree owners and managers.
