Working in collaboration with our technology partner Airbus Defence and Space, we are very pleased to announce that our new environmental risk model for transport infrastructure protection, CRISES (“collapse risk indication system for earthworks and slopes”) has achieved proof of concept on its first run against real-world data. CRISES adopts the proven framework of our POLESTORM system, now in UK-wide use by Network Rail, combined with data in varying formats and from several different sources, to provide an indication of landslip risk adjacent to transport corridors.
One of the data sources is Airbus’ GeoPerspectives synthetic aperture radar output… click here for an image showing watercourse catchments, a key input factor within CRISES, in an area of Kent.
